I grew up in Shreveport, the second of four children.
I attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where I earned my undergraduate degree in biochemistry. After college I attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport and then continued my training at the Joint Residency Program in Pediatrics in Omaha, Nebraska. After finishing my pediatric training in 2003, my husband and I returned to Shreveport and I joined the practice of Pierremont Pediatrics.
I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Shreveport Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society. In the community I have served on the Board of Directors of the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, a member of the Authors in April committee and as the President of the Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society. I currently serve on the Board of the Shreveport Medical Society and will serve as the President in 2018.
On a personal note, my husband and I are the parents of three beautiful children. When time permits we love traveling to visit our extended family. I like to knit and bake fancy birthday cakes for my kids. As a family, we place a high priority on physical fitness; my husband and I enjoy training for triathlons.
